Achievement / Academic Testing
Do you need standalone academic testing for your child’s school or your own exploration?
What is Achievement/Academic Testing?
Achievement, or academic, testing is a type of standardized assessment designed to measure an individual's knowledge, skills, or proficiency in school-based learning areas such as reading, math, writing, and spelling. Unlike IQ testing, which assesses overall cognitive abilities, achievement tests focus on evaluating what a person has learned or accomplished in a particular academic or skill-based domain. These tests are commonly used in educational settings to assess students' understanding and mastery of curriculum material.
Who is Achievement/Academic Testing For?
There are several assessments for children, teenagers, and adults that adequately measure cognitive functioning. Some commonly used assessments include:
- Wechsler Individual Achievement Test, Fourth Edition (WIAT-4)
- Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement, Third Ed. (KTEA-3)
- Woodcock-Johnson IV Tests of Achievement (WJ ACH)
